The Wood Work Therapy Metal Business Card Alignment Template Version 2 is a complete digital package for makers who want to 3D print their own reusable laser-engraving fixture.

The template holds up to eight standard rounded-corner metal business cards in a repeatable 2 × 4 layout. It is designed to simplify batch engraving, improve card placement, and reduce repetitive alignment work.

Version 2 adds an outer-side finger-removal point for every card pocket and print-compensated pocket geometry while preserving the original overall template footprint.

Printer calibration, filament behavior, flow, cooling, and slicer settings can affect final dimensions. Allow the completed print to cool fully before measuring or testing card fit.

Printer Requirements

The complete template measures approximately 180.108 mm × 238.088 mm and must fit within your printer’s usable build area. It is designed to fit within the 256 mm × 256 mm build plate of printers such as the Bambu Lab A1.

Confirm your printer’s usable build area before purchasing.

Using the Template

1. Print the supplied 3MF file without scaling.
2. Allow the print to cool completely before removing it from the build plate.
3. Test-fit your specific metal business card blanks.
4. Place the template squarely on the laser bed.
5. Open the included Version 2 LightBurn file or import the SVG at full scale.
6. Align and lock the guide layer.
7. Place your artwork inside the desired card guides.
8. Insert the cards fully against the positioning brim.
9. Frame or preview the engraving job.
10. Engrave and remove each card through its outer-side finger opening.

Important Compatibility Information

Metal business card dimensions and corner radii can vary between suppliers. Always test-fit the exact cards you intend to use before starting a production batch.

Do not scale the complete template to correct card fit. Scaling the 3MF independently from the LightBurn or SVG guide will break alignment between the printed fixture and the laser layout.

Software Compatibility

• The 3MF file is intended for compatible 3D-printing slicers.
• The included LightBurn project is intended for LightBurn-compatible workflows.
• The SVG can be used in other laser software that supports full-scale SVG import.
